Please note:  We will be meeting at the Cascade Fire Department and then caravaning to the project site, about two miles away.  Promptness is appreciated, so that you do not miss the group.

Workday Description:

Post fire flooding poses a major threat of damage to homes and lives in the Waldo Canyon Fire burn scar.  Many sites along US Highway 24 remain highly vulnerable to flood impacts.  Project work will include re-vegetation and/or installation of jute matting around recently installed sediment detention basins.  This will help reduce flood impacts in a critical area.  The work will protect homes and a local school.

All work is dependent upon environmental factors – unpredictable weather, runoff and soil movement may alter project and location details.

Important Notes:

  • CUSP will provide all materials and necessary tools to complete project work.
  • A portable restroom will be on site.
  • Weather, which could create hazardous conditions, may cause the project to be canceled or rescheduled. We will notify you of any changes, which will also be posted at: www.uppersouthplatte.org/Volunteer/ .

Requirements of Volunteers:

All volunteers must complete and submit prior to the project:  a CUSP RELEASE 2014[1] copy and a VOLUNTEER LISTING 2014- for your group.   Please print all documents two sided.
