We’ll be clipping, pulling and bagging a variety of noxious weeds including: scentless chamomile, yellow toad flax, mullein; musk and Canada thistle. We’ll be working on hillsides or small areas of steep terrain, along a series of small fishing ponds and dams. As the area is near moving water, which easily spreads invasive weeds, the project will have a positive impact and avoid the potential use of herbicides. Noxious weeds out compete native plant species, which negatively affect aquatic and wildlife habitat. Efforts to control these weeds will prevent their spread and improve the ecological health of the watershed.
