Workday Description:
The Bailey Slash Site will be open at the end of the summer. It’s a place where residents from Bailey and the surrounding areas can drop off their slash from mitigating fire on their properties. Removing slash is important for mountain communities to stay safe from catastrophic fire. This project will consist of building a wire fence around our slash site to ensure trespassing, including illegal dumping does not happen.
All work is dependent upon environmental factors – unpredictable weather, runoff and soil movement may alter project and location details.

What to Expect:
This project is located in exposed mountain environments. Please be aware and prepared for potential hazards, including but not limited to: driving on mountainous roads with snow, ice and/or loose gravel; exposure to sun, wind, lightning and rapidly changing weather conditions; possible falling trees; and hiking at significant elevation. Medications may have adverse effects in sun, heat or altitude. Please list medications and medical conditions on the CUSP release form so staff may be aware of potential concerns. Know your limitations and inform staff immediately if you become ill or injured. Be prepared to exit quickly in the event of an emergency or changing environmental conditions. Please drink plenty of water prior to and during the project to avoid dehydration, which occurs rapidly at high elevation and dry climate. Please wear appropriate clothing.
GPS systems and Internet map sites are often misleading in the mountains. Cell phone service will be inconsistent or unavailable.
