Workday Description:
There are numerous sites on USFS property along Guanella Pass that contain dispersed, social campsites and road systems. Guanella Pass will soon be paved, making these sites unsafe for access and allowing healing of the area. Our goal is to assist USFS partners in restoration and decommissioning such sites. Work will include: dismantling fire rings, reseeding native vegetation and naturalizing these areas of heavy use. The result will improve habitat along riparian and wildlife corridors, and prompt more appropriate use of these popular forested sites.  The project work will instill stewardship and help identify the best uses for our public lands.  This is truly a “Project of Purpose.”

All work is dependent upon environmental factors – unpredictable weather, runoff and soil movement may alter project and location details.

Important Notes

  • ALL vehicles must remain at project site for the duration of the project
  • CUSP will provide hard hats, tools and materials necessary to complete project work
  • A portable restroom will be available on site
