CU Denver’s Honors and Leadership Program  is returning to us for their 3rd consecutive year! THANK YOU!

Workday Description:

The Black Forest community was devastated by the 2013 Black Forest fire, it became the most costly fire in Colorado’s history and consumed 509 homes and structures and burnt 14,280 acres. Black Forest Regional Park is a key recreational area with wildlife and trails within the community and was largely lost in the fire. Different restoration organizations and El Paso County are working together to try and restore their beloved park. We will be planting Ponderosa Pines in the more significantly burned areas of the park. This restoration project will aid in establishing healthy new growth in the park, help to increase ecological health, stabilize hillsides and improve aesthetics to this loved recreational area.  This is a fun project that fosters team building!

All work is dependent upon environmental factors – unpredictable weather, runoff and soil movement may alter project and location details.
