What: Volunteer days to help harvest and plant willows in the Charlie Meyers SWA (Dream Stream).

The Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) has been doing a stream habitat improvement project on the Charlie Meyers SWA for about 2 years. This project is near completion and one of the final steps is to plant willows in strategic areas to stabilize the work and improve the habitat.
You will be able to see firsthand the improvements made by the CPW on this project.
At this event you will learn techniques for harvesting/storing and planting willows in a riparian environment. We will discuss the various ways that these willows improve the habitat both in and out of the water.
Lunch will be provided and we will need volunteers to setup a lunch table.

Where: Charlie Meyers SWA (Dream Stream) located on the South Platte River between 11 Mile and Spinney reservoirs.

When: Saturday May 7, Monday May 9.

If we get enough volunteers we may also do another day on Tuesday May 10.
Work will typically run from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

How to sign up: Send an email to Cheyenne Mountain Chapter of Trout Unlimited VP of Conservation – Don Logelin d2jm@msn.com or call .
Sign up before May 4.
Please indicate what day(s) you can attend and include a phone number in case there are changes to the event or we need to reschedule. Once signed up you will receive a confirmation email/call with more details.
